Shekar Narasimhan is Chairman and Founder of the AAPI Victory Fund, one of the first of its kind SuperPACs focused exclusively on mobilizing the political power of the Asian American Pacific Islander community. In his business, he is Managing Partner at Beekman Advisors which provides strategic advisory services to companies and investors involved in real estate, mortgage finance, affordable housing and related sectors. Since 2012, has also served as Chairman of Papillon Capital, focused on sustainable infrastructure investing in emerging markets.
Prior to Beekman, Mr. Narasimhan was Managing Director at Prudential Mortgage Capital Company from 2000 to 2003 and the Chairman and CEO of The WMF Group, Ltd. from 1988 to 2000. WMF was a publicly-traded company and one of the largest commercial real estate finance companies in the US when it was acquired by Prudential in 2000. He has lived and worked in Central Appalachia on housing and community development issues and helped found the Emergent Institute in Bangalore, India, to train social entrepreneurs. Mr. Narasimhan received a B.S. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and an M.B.A. from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
